Passions' Lindsay Korman and Brook Kerr Know That Sometimes
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

Like most teenage girls, PASSIONS's Theresa and Whitney have boys on the brain. Their portrayers, Lindsay Korman and Brook Kerr, respectively, prove there's more to life than the opposite sex sometimes.

Brook Kerr: Lindsay and I have been spending a lot of time together, especially lately.
Lindsay Korman: We go to clubs and watch bands play and then pick up a bite to eat. We tend to stay up till 3 or 4 in the morning, even on work nights.

Digest: Is it just the two of you, or do you bring your boyfriends with you?
Kerr and Korman (laughing): With the men!
Kerr: It's nice. Don [Swaby, Chad] and his girlfriend go out with us too.

Digest: Can you keep your mind off work?
Korman: Totally!
Kerr: We really don't talk about it at all.

Digest: Do you get recognized more when you go out together?
Korman: Yeah. If we're out in a club or whatever and I get recognized at a moment I happen to be by myself like walking to the rest room I like to bring the fan over and introduce them to Brook or whoever. I think it makes the fans really happy.

Digest: What do you talk about when it's just the girls?
Kerr: We talk about our men and normal stuff.
Korman: Actually, my favorite thing to do is ask about her family. I think Brook is amazing and so inspiring. She and [her boyfriend] Chris are really amazing parents [to their 10-year-old son Chris].

Digest: Do you see any similarities between your real-life best friend and Brook?
Korman: Not at all! They're opposites. My best friend, Lucy, is a stress-free, go-with-the-flow party animal. She's even so different from me! I'm like Brook, and Lucy is someone who [I have fun with] in a different way. She doesn't have a kid, so I feel more like a kid when I'm with her.

Digest: Does playing someone younger than you bring back the kid in you?
Korman: (laughs) Since we're so old!
Kerr: The thing I like about it is when you are young, everything is such an idea, a dream, a fantasy, because you have had no life experience. [Kids] don't know what [the real experience] is going to be like.

Digest: Are your characters realistically written when it comes to that?
Kerr: Yeah, Theresa thinks of marrying Ethan Crane, and Whitney thinks about when she's going to hold up that [tennis] trophy.
Korman: But they don't know what their future holds nor do we. We have absolutely no clue what could happen in a month.

Digest: Any hopes of seeing Theresa and Whit: The College Years?
Korman: I'm hoping Whit and Theresa go somewhere like Harmony Community College.
Kerr: At the beginning of the year, Theresa and Whitney were like, 'Next year we'll be trying to get into a sorority'".
Korman: They were supposed to room together.
Kerr: That's what we want.

Digest:What have you learned this past year?
Kerr: I think we've learned about how to get used to working day to day. Beyond that, we've learned more about how the business works. We have to realize it is a business. We do have to keep our part of the bargain up, and to learn from other people's mistakes.
Korman I've tried to become a better person in the past year. It's really hard for me to trust people and let go of my fears, especially now that I'm trying to be more open and trusting toward people. I think that's really important. That's how you find friends really good friends.
Kerr: This past year has totally flown by, and it's amazing the changes our lives have taken. Before the show, I was a cocktail waitress, going to jobs every once in a while. Now, I have a job, and work is steady. There's a combination of having some stress taken off because I have a job, but other stress has been added. It's made me focus and think, "Okay, I have a job. Does that complete me as a person?"
Korman: Exactly!
Kerr: The passion to accomplish something has happened, [I'm a working actress]. When that happens, you're left with yourself. It's really made me focus on myself and my family, making sure we're well-rounded people, that we stay Christian and focused, and to make sure that if any other changes do come in our lives, we'll be able to handle it in a way where we're still a family. I don't want the business to take over the person that I am or the person "big Chris" is or "little Chris" is. That's been a major concern. I don't want my life to be all about work. I try to make sure all the stuff I do, growing business-wise, I'm also growing human-wise.

Digest: Now, a musical question: Can you sing the show's theme song?
Kerr: (singing) I wanna hold the hand of the one who can take me places. [Speaking to Korman] You're the one that can sing you sing it!
Korman: I'm not sure I know all the words. [Singing] I would fly on the wings of a bird, I knew-ew
Kerr and Korman (singing louder), would take me higher. Breathe in, breathe out
Kerr: (still singing) Because it's been a long day
Korman (singing) and we want to go home to our men!
